Terms of Service for Computer Repair & IT Support in and around Auburn Washington
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the computer repair, IT support, networking, and custom PC services provided by ErlenTek (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By requesting, authorizing, or using our services in Auburn, Covington, Maple Valley, Enumclaw, and Kent, you (“Client” or “Customer”) agree to the following terms.
1. Computer Repair & IT Services Provided
ErlenTek provides professional technology services including but not limited to:
- Computer repair (desktop & laptop repair)
- Virus and malware removal
- SSD upgrades and hardware replacement
- Data transfer and troubleshooting
- Business IT support
- Network setup and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
- Custom-built computers
- Electronics Repair
- Onsite IT support and remote tech support
Services may be performed in-shop, onsite at your home or business, or remotely. All services are provided on a best-effort basis. Some technical issues may not be fully resolvable due to hardware failure, manufacturer limitations, software corruption, or pre-existing damage.
2. Authorization to Perform Work
By submitting a device or requesting IT service, you authorize ErlenTek to:
- Perform diagnostic testing
- Access hardware, software, and stored data as required to complete service
- Install, remove, or configure hardware and software
You confirm that you are the legal owner of the device or have authorization from the owner.
3. Data Backup & Data Loss Disclaimer
Customers are solely responsible for backing up important files, business data, and personal information before computer repair or IT service. While reasonable care is exercised, ErlenTek is not liable for data loss, corruption, or recovery failure.
Data recovery services, if offered, are not guaranteed unless expressly stated in writing.
4. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of service unless otherwise agreed in writing. Devices may be retained until payment is received in full.
Repair estimates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. If additional issues are discovered during diagnostics or repair, we will contact you for approval before proceeding with additional billable work.
5. Abandoned Devices
Devices not picked up within 30 days after notification of completion may be considered abandoned. ErlenTek reserves the right, where permitted by law, to dispose of or recycle abandoned equipment to recover service costs.
6. Warranty & Service Limitations
Warranty coverage for computer repair, replaced parts, and custom PCs is governed by our separate Return & Warranty Policy.
Warranty does not cover:
- Physical or accidental damage
- Liquid damage
- Power surge or electrical damage
- Malware reinfection after service
- User-installed software conflicts
- Third-party repair attempts
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ErlenTek shall not be liable for:
- Loss of data or digital files
- Loss of business revenue or productivity
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Pre-existing hardware or software conditions
Total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific computer repair or IT service that gave rise to the claim.
8. Third-Party Software, Updates & Manufacturers
ErlenTek is not responsible for issues caused by operating system updates, manufacturer defects, software licensing restrictions, compatibility limitations, or third-party applications.
9. Onsite IT Support Conditions
For onsite computer repair or business IT support, you agree to provide a safe and accessible working environment. We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service if conditions are unsafe.
10. Remote Tech Support
Remote IT support depends on stable internet connectivity and system functionality. ErlenTek is not responsible for service interruptions caused by connectivity failures or unstable systems.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ErlenTek from claims, damages, or liabilities arising from misuse of repaired equipment, illegal content stored on devices, or unlawful activity connected to serviced hardware.
12. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Washington.
13. Updates to Terms
We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in services or legal requirements. Updated Terms become effective upon posting on our website.
